I’m so glad to finally be posting my review of Flourish Natural Body Care. I had a slew of hair products I’ve been testing as of late, and trying to get them all equal hair time has been a challenge! However, I couldn’t wait to share with you guys this line. It really is a standout. Their products are made in Vermont, and they source their herbs from their farm or local farms-pretty cool!
Flourish all started when Kirsten Connor, the founder, started to make soap. She was fascinated with the process, and went from soaps to making shampoo. She calls herself a ‘make it from scratch’ kind of person. Well, I’m glad she kept testing and developing, because today she has some great products. Flourish carries everything from body soap, scrubs, butters and shampoos-a one stop body care shop.
I tried the Patchouli Tangerine Volumizing Shampoo+Salt, the Patchouli Tangerine Volumizing Conditioner+Salt, the Patchouli Tangerine Texturizing Cream, and the Patchouli Tangerine Texturizing Spray. Now keep in mind this is going to be more for fine/thin textured hair, which is my hair all the way! They have lines for curly hair, dry hair, and clarifying shampoos. The Patchouli Tangerine Line may not be for you, but there’s so much more to choose from on their website here.
Patchouli Tangerine Volumizing Shampoo+Salt-
This shampoo is awesome! Plain and simple. Can I be honest? Whenever I get sent a natural shampoo and conditioner my hopes aren’t very high. It’s hard to come by a good natural shampoo that performs. Well, this shampoo did not disappoint! Why is it so great? Well, it actually cleans my hair for starters. Not only does it feel clean, but it suds up when I use it, another huge perk. With my hair being so fine and thin, if I don’t blow dry it and let it hair dry, I usually end up with greasy hair. I have to blow dry it so it doesn’t feel greasy, and to give it volume. However, with this shampoo I could let it air dry, and brush it out and no oily residue! The smell is just like the name suggests-patchouli and tangerine. I recommend this for anyone who has fine or thin hair, and hasn’t found that natural shampoo yet. Also, it’s a steal compared to a lot of the shampoos on the market today.
Again, love this conditioner. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, but yet gives it enough moisture. This and the shampoo, is a winning combo. I’m able to brush my hair out easily after the shower. The shampoo and conditioner is also good for color treated hair. Get them both, you won’t be disappointed!
Patchouli Tangerine+Sea Salt Texturizing Spray-
This is similar to sea salt sprays you may have used in the past. It enhances natural wave in the hair, and gives it that textured beach look. I applied it after I curled my hair, and loved the tousle and texture it gave. It doesn’t give any real hold, but I liked that because then my hair didn’t feel heavy or greasy the next day. I could just brush through and apply it again. I also sprayed it on my towel dried hair, and it gave some natural wave to my straight hair. A great addition to the shampoo and conditioner I mentioned above!
Patchouli Tangerine Texturizing Cream-
This cream has a gritty like texture at first, but once you put it in your hair, it melts into a more clear cream. I only needed a little(as in hardly any), and it gave my hair some smoothness and texture. I applied after my hair was curled to bring some separation. This would be the best for someone with coarse/dry hair/curly hair, because it would really give the hair moisture without weighing down. This isn’t something I would use on a regular basis just because it is heavy for my fine/thin hair. I can see myself using this maybe more in the summer when my hair is dried out from the sun.
