After the flood: Practicing gratitude+resilience.






I truly mean it when I say that I have been blown away by the overwhelming support I have received following my home flooding last week. So many people wrote encouraging notes on their orders, stopped by the store, and shared our story. Thank you, thank you.




 I’m not going to sugar coat it. We will not be able to return to our house. My neighbor, whose family originally lived there and converted it from a barn (they lived in it with their 9 children, cows and other farm animals while renovating)told me that his parents lived there from 1931-1999 and it absolutely never came close to flooding. There was no history of it flooding until Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 and our house had a full basement and 5.5 feet of water on the first floor. It  was devastating and we lost everything. Twelve years later, it has happened again. Clearly, we need to make a new plan. I will share more as we know it.


The Secret Sale was a resounding success!

I love hearing all of the positive feedback about how much fun it was to check in every day to see which products were in the secret collection. Thank you so much to everyone who shopped.


Our biggest seller was the Pink Grapefruit liters-but all of the liters-the other washes and shampoos and conditioners did incredibly well! Clearly, you need the big sizes. If you missed out, we {may} make these liters available again. Stay tuned…..


It was also so much fun hearing your impressions of the new Sensory Series scents. New scents are so much fun!


Other positive news:


We have hired a new employee, Nina. She is an absolute wealth of knowledge in multiple areas: herbs and plants, raw ingredients, nutritional/supplements and is also experienced in production.  In a time when so many businesses are being forced to limit their offerings or being forced to close I am so grateful for both Becky and Nina and the skills they bring to our team. We have everything in place for a big growth spurt.


Asking for help...


In order for me to recover from this emotionally, physically and financially I am making a plan, and I’m going to ask for your help. I am not going to ask you to buy, buy, buy. That is the opposite of our values. But I am going to ask for you to help us grow. It is something concrete that will give us the stability we need right now. We have such a loyal customer base and our returning customer rate is stellar. Right now, we just need more!


We are working on expanding our sales directly to customers as well as our business to business sales.

I can't thank you enough for all of the good wishes you have sent to my family and me. It has made a huge difference to feel so supported at such a difficult time. I just know you will all come through with the new customers we need to connect with to move full steam ahead.
